Meets the Community: A new initiative by the Olivetti Foundation for young musicians

The Venezuelan conductor José Jesús Olivetti, through the Olivetti Foundation, announces the launch of Meets the Community, an innovative project designed to integrate music, education, and community in a meaningful and sustainable way.

A space for musical integration and pedagogical development for young musicians and local communities

This project will be developed during Olivetti’s concert seasons with his various orchestras, establishing itself as an initiative that combines orchestral practice, musical pedagogy, and community engagement activities.

The main goal of Meets the Community is to encourage active participation of young musicians, offering them experiences beyond the concert hall: collaborative orchestra rehearsals, masterclasses, workshops, and activities that connect young performers with professional musicians and the local community. In this way, the project promotes cooperation, creativity, and social inclusion through music.

This program is grounded in the principles of the Olivetti Foundation, whose mission is to promote artistic and educational projects with a strong social focus, providing young generations with tools for training and cultural development. Through Meets the Community, José Jesús Olivetti aims to create a space where music serves as a driver for integration, learning, and personal enrichment, strengthening the connections between orchestras and their cultural environment.

Since its creation, Meets the Community launched a pilot activity last year in the Bodense region, where the Bodensee Ärzteorchester and José Jesús Olivetti, together with violin soloist Mon-Fu Lee, offered masterclasses to young musicians during a weekend of concerts. This first experience laid the foundation for a continuous program of musical and pedagogical integration, linked to each concert season Olivetti conducts whenever possible with his various orchestras, creating a space for exchange, learning, and musical fellowship that will enrich both young performers and local communities.

Although still in the planning phase, the creation of Meets the Community represents a decisive step in Olivetti’s commitment to musical education, orchestral practice, and social integration, providing young musicians with unique opportunities for learning and connection with the artistic community in each region.
