Contest "Touch and Fight" 2019
in its First Edition
Contest created for the recognition of Venezuelan children and young musicians who continue with their learning and professional, cultural and human growth in Venezuela.
A group of young Venezuelans who continue their training and professional careers abroad, come together to encourage all young people to continue “Playing and Fighting” for their dreams, goals and life objectives through the “Tocar y Luchar” contest. .
The contest is named after the phrase of El maestro José Antonio Abreu, who gave his life to the cultural, social and musical development of the country's youth through the System.
Young people, we admire your courage and tenacity, and we tell you: "Dreams do come true, as long as we are prepared and willing to face the challenges that come our way."
1. Participants
1.1. Candidates age
Musicians born in Venezuela and who are currently living in the country can participate. The ages by categories will be the following:
Infant Category: Children aged 0 to 12 years.
Youth Category: Children aged 13 to 18 years.
1.2. Enrollment application
Participants can apply by filling in the "Application Form" between 1.11.2019 and 25.11.2019.

1.3. Number of participants
The number of accepted candidates for the first round is free.
2. Contest
2.1. Contest tests
The Contest is structured in 4 tests or rounds. 1- First Round, 2- Second Round, 3- Third Round or Semifinal and 4- Fourth Round or Final. All tests will be carried out through videos using the YouTube social network.
VERY IMPORTANT: The first round of the contest will NOT be public, and the videos of the candidates will be sent through a private link to info.concursotocaryluchar@gmail.com , from the second round the videos will be Public and shared on the social network of Instagram of the Contest.
2.2. Number of participants per test
In the first round there is no limit to participants. A maximum of 5 contestants per category of each instrument will be chosen to advance to the seventh round.
In the second round, they will compete a maximum 5 musicians of each instrument per category and 1 of each instrument will be chosen to advance to the third round or semifinal.
In the third round or Semifinal, 1 musician of each instrument per category will compete, and 5 musicians are chosen to advance to the final round
Final, in each category the 5 chosen musicians will participate and the winner will be named.
2.3. Public Voting through Instagram and Youtube
The public will have a relevant participation from the second round of the contest through likes on instagram and youtube of the contest to their favorite candidates. In cases of a tie in rounds 2, 3 and 4, the likes will be taken into account by the Jury.
2.4. First Round (November 26 to December 8)
Participants must record their video with the works requested by the contest (Statute 3) and upload it to the YouTube platform. Send the link to info.concursotocaryluchar@gmail.com .
2.5. Second Round (December 17 to December 27)
Participants (Maximum 5 per category) of each instrument that advance to the second round of the contest, must record the mandatory pieces (Statute 3) and upload them to the YouTube social network publicly.
2.6. Third test "Semifinal" (January 16 to January 20)
The participants (1 by category) of each instrument, that advance to the third round of the contest, must record the mandatory pieces (Statute 3) and upload them to the YouTube social network publicly. Send the Youtube links to our official email address info.concursotocaryluchar@gmail.com. The videos of the candidates will be published both on the Instagram account of the Contest and on the Youtube channel of the contest . The public will be able to vote and comment on your videos, which we will take into account (Statute 2.3.), If warranted.
2.7. Final (Announced Soon) this date could vary since, we will adapt to the inconveniences of electricity and internet service in Venezuela.
Maximum 5 finalists (per category) must record the mandatory pieces (Statute 3) and upload them to the YouTube social network publicly. Send the Youtube links to our official email address info.concursotocaryluchar@gmail.com. The videos of the candidates will be published both on the Instagram account of the Contest and on the Youtube channel of the contest. The public may vote and comment on your videos which we will take into account (Statute 2.3.) if warranted.
From these candidates, the winner of each category will be chosen.

4. Awards
4.1. Awards
The jury will award two prizes for each category: the First Prize and the Second Prize.

The decisions of the jury will be secret and unappealable.
5.6. Changes
The organization may modify the number of participants in the different tests, as well as introduce the changes it deems necessary for the proper functioning of the contest.
6. Acceptance of the bases
Participation in the contest implies full acceptance of these rules and conditions, as well as the express submission of the participants to them and to the interpretative decisions that the jury makes of the bases for the resolution of any doubt or conflict that may arise.
